“Only if for a night,” the opener, who welcomes us with a smooth-produced, but no less opulent pop sounds. There show like Florence and the Machine, that it certainly does not give the powerful choruses that live from Florence's voice and a dramatic piano and choirs in turn to stormy heights.

Ceremonial – Too much of a good thing?

But – believe it or not – all this opulence, decadence and exploitation in the continuous-energy atmosphere is much too fast kills, one as a Czech cake roll

.All

which then acts partly like a roller coaster ride, where you do not know which way is up or down, where, unfortunately, the songs blur into one another, even if each seen individually with pop stars like Beyonce and Tori Amos can keep up.

So “What gave me the waters” a great atmospheric, almost spiritual song, with harp and choir makes especially in the relatively quiet first impression part, by then in the erupting second part of losing a little. Exactly this flaw by putting on a little “Ceremonial” like a red thread, hardly a song can not fully unfold, what is refreshing in good doses, at Florence and the Machine, unfortunately, repeatedly applied too generously, zigzag course Each song grows out of itself and becomes something new, not always to his advantage.

 lonely strong

In some songs you can enjoy this very well, indeed more so, to simply fall in love, only in the album, shows the inability of even a little bit to come to rest, once to hold back with the exuberant compositions, the choirs and constantly outdo themselves ending highlights. Even the songs that begin immediately with drumbeats, make it mostly about the 4-minute mark, it will be too dazzling power ballads, Celine Dion holds on their records back over Florence and the Machine. It also happens that the middle of something consistently strong songs like “Lovers to lovers” can seem almost intrusive stressful. Luckily, that comes up afterwards with “No light, no light,” an admittedly similar restless, but all the more powerful song in the tracklist. Similarly lit “Seven devils around me” in a menacing backdrop, a song that one pursues in his sleep.

 Conclusion:

Florence Welch is a gifted songwriter, a great, expressive singer and a pop artist who brings some life into the music scene, but with their second album has a weakness revealed that the first album Lungs were rarely heard: The inability to get to and from the scissors and cut out old habits, to get some distance and to edit, because for just 60 minutes, the album sounds lä nger, more strenuous and tiring, so that the last song “Leave My Body” can hardly enjoy.

Bush are back – but only 50%

2010 the band played their first show since the separation, even then it should shortly begin work on a new album, which was initially discussed, however, under the title “Everything Always Now”. There was little change in the band structure, it unfortunately also, in addition to Gavin Rossdale and Robin Good-engine so the newcomers Corey Britz and Chris Taynor were taken on board, Nigel Pulsford, Dave Parsons admitted that the prospect of intense tours no longer with their private life was to conform. Chris Taynor played with back in 2001 when Bush and also accompanied Gavin Rossdale solo, he also was a long time member of Helmet. So while Chris comes more from the harder area, Corey finds himself out of the softer climes again, he tugged at The Calling about the bass. The perfect blend?

 Simple but nice

The Sea of Memories is a perfect collection of catchy rock songs that always sound modern enough that they can not be as tired insult infusion, almost sneaky sneak songs like “The Afterlife” in the ears and put themselves there as nasty earwigs. Even without the extraordinary experiments, even with this sticky pop appeal can be criticized only half-heartedly, because despite the lack of innovation is “The Sea of Memories” simply made good, like it is and whether the potential radio surely one of the better Alternatives to gunslinger and Coldplay. And I'd be lying if I said that it is not too large parts of Rossdale's still impressive, haunting vocals that Bush has always been awarded by an authenticity that one of their bands at stadium Size does not feel so always.

Just when the comeback album is perhaps the genius of the band, because the old fans are not offended and new fans had no expectations about Softgrunger anyway. So it hardly bothers that impresses with “All Night Doctors,” a painfully corny ballad, including strings, on the one good and happy could have done without. Overall, the new album by the now dignified rockers have a pretty good-bye, which is mainly mixed with the nostalgia of the '90s MTV generation celebrate successes. And with a song like “She's a Stallion,” which hopefully it with his Black Sabbath riff also creates music, you can then also be reconciled with the perfect reunion.

It is a music genre that has developed in the late 60s. With electronically generated handclaps, synth bass and jazzy brass inserts to polyrythmischen P-Funk grooves revolutionized the mid-70s, the African-American pop music. One of the main players in this mix of psychedelic rock, soul and funk along with George Clinton and Bootsy was Collins.

 Parliament and Funkadelic

founded by George Clinton Parliament and Funkadelic bands became popular in the 70s and 80s. Between 1967 and 1983 they had in the U.S. R & B charts thirteen top ten hits, six of which landed at number one. Funkadelic was started in 1997 into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Jägerklause is typical for the Friedrichshain residents a little intimidating because of the normally vegetarian decried as at least a dozen neighborhoods are likely to antlers on the walls of Jägerklause rather intimidating act, but a glance at the Black Sabbath Posters can be compared to breathe from the entrance at least the rockers: Here you will feel at home.

 True Widow Interview

Even Dan, Nicole and Slim from True Widow seem to feel comfortable, relaxed, we sit on the sofas in the lobby, the formalities of “How was the trip”, “How are you” and “hopefully change are its not too exhausted. ” But – everything is in order, are all relaxed and in good spirits, so the interview can start

.

Moi: Your latest album is this year came out, but I've read in an interview that you had already done a lot of songs in 2009 …

Dan: Yes, between the first and second album was a long time and there were several songs that were written earlier than the current album and came nearer and nearer, we have posted some new, but most have been excited for a while, we played them on tour and they felt good when we went into the studio.

Moi: Did they changed a lot, as you have it recorded for the new album again

?

Dan: They are constantly changing, even songs from the first album, they always sound different when we play them. Maybe what I play the guitar differently and think “I'll do from now on” when we would record the debut again, it would not sound twice as.

Nicole: It's not that we do not like them, but things change just in time

.

True Widow began with Dan at home alone, who met with a recording device around tried it, and wrote songs and eventually grossed Slim on drums brought to Nicole them in a karaoke bar and so the trio was complete. Even today it is generally the case that Dan first worked on song ideas and then spreads out in front of Nicole and Slim, who play together and then see if the band can agree on the sound, change what you should or which songs find no sympathy at all with their colleagues.

Dan: Not every song is good. Sometimes I sit at home and think “Man, this song is so good, that is the best song ever” and then we play it together, and think …

Nicole: Forget it …

.

Dan: It's not always obvious when one sits alone at home

.

 Valhalla Dancehall's radio tuned to

For the latest album, the band has taken lodgings for 18 months in an old house there and lived alone and partially written songs, partly recorded together. The results are often very large, long track monster that made it to some EPs, but had to fear for the album, the gulf to be made radio-compatible.

Yan: Once we have decided that it was not so hard, we wanted to do something audible because the music was very tiring and would not even fit on a CD. Sometimes, simply cut them in half, and somehow it works, my songs were certainly easier, because they consisted of more sections, while Hamilton's tend to grow so that it is difficult to tell where one piece of stop ; rt and where it begins.

Hamilton: I have a few more pounds and I've shaved off a few of the longer songs on the album got
.

The house in the middle of nowhere

isolation and nature, Yan – who lived quite a long time alone on the farm – whiled away the loneliness and self-talk conversations with the animal residents. From this relaxed atmosphere created unusual sound bites, from birds to find the saws or other hidden detail on the album.

Hamilton: Abi has played the saw, Abi has also washed pots and pans on one of the songs. When you do the everyday things, like washing the dishes, you think “hey, that sounds good”, then you lift up and you like the idea a few weeks later you try on it. The world is full of beautiful sounds, not all come from instruments.

Yan: It is certainly related to the fact that we were not in the studio when you're standing there and in isolated areas, there is no noise except the ones you own and fabrizierst we have simply added to the kitchen or garden, or in the bathroom and then you get all sorts of noises and sounds, especially in the bathrooms.

J: Does everyone fit purely in the bathroom?

Yan: We have not always taken together, sometimes it was just one person alone.

J: Was that you had already spontaneously or songs and have considered whether they simply ingest it in the bathroom?

Yan: I think most of the songs are the end results become multi-room, you've just worked at a place and if you were bored of it, you're somewhere else. Or someone has made too much noise. It is a very large house, once I came back from a bike ride and five different people have played, Graham was on top of the mix, Neil was in the shed, Martin has taken down, Phil has played in the corner, probably why we have so many layers to the album.

from the farm to the stage

At the end of the house was a kind of blessing for “Valhalla Dance Hall” because of lack of time pressure, the nature, or rest, and perhaps the lack of influence of producers and mixers ensured that long in the editing room Time for sound film sound film had to be placed on one another, but a very organic album has emerged that not infrequently the sounds of nature in magnificent robes Rock, the vastness of the environment also carries within itself and in waves sent through the speakers. How reinterpreted something on the stage, as seems more than complicated.

Yan: It was not so hard, I even think that a lot of things sound better. It simply finds a way that an instrument can combine four different sounds, then it could be noted that there is a further variant, as much as you can make it. We are not trying to arrange every detail, but simply to make good music.
